On November 12-13, Kyiv hosted the European Regional School Nutrition Summit, bringing together representatives from over 20 international organizations, governments, and embassies from more than 20 countries, including Norway, Switzerland, the European Union, Moldova, and others.

The event gathered around 500 participants from various parts of the world to unite efforts in strengthening school nutrition programs not only in Europe but also beyond its borders.

Ukraine was represented at the highest level: the Prime Minister, the First Lady, as well as ministers responsible for school nutrition reform — the Ministry of Education and Science, the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Economy, and the Ministry of Communities and Territories Development. Additionally, regional governors, representatives of local governments, international technical assistance projects, media, and the expert community took part in the event.

This summit marked an important milestone on Ukraine’s path to integrating into international initiatives for the development of school nutrition. In 2023, Ukraine joined the School Meals Coalition, opening new opportunities for experience exchange and the implementation of best practices.
